RIYADH — Saudi Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy Ambassador Dr. Rayed Krimly categorically denied claims published by The Wall Street Journal regarding demands made by the Houthi militia, describing them as “pure fabrication.”

In a post on X on Thursday, Krimly rejected the newspaper’s account and questioned the credibility of the information attributed to its sources.

“I categorically deny the claims published by The Wall Street Journal regarding demands made by this militia. All of this is pure fabrication by the writers or their alleged sources,” he wrote.

Krimly criticized the Houthis for turning against Yemen’s internationally recognized government and contributing to the suffering of the Yemeni people.

“These militias turned against the Yemeni government, caused famine among the Yemeni people, and dragged Yemen into conflicts and agendas that do not serve Yemen and its people,” he said.

He also condemned the militia’s attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea and on civilian and economic targets, as well as its rejection of peace initiatives.

“They attacked commercial vessels in the Red Sea waterways, civilian and economic targets, and rejected all peace efforts,” Krimly wrote.

The Saudi official concluded by emphasizing the legitimacy of Yemen’s internationally recognized government.

“We also remind the writers that Yemen has a recognized government,” he said.
